Every word of this! Intimacy issues, attachment issues, and anger issues are key. No grown, mature woman wants to parent a grown man because he refuses to grow up, be accountable, and address his issues. We're looking for partners, not dependents.

Yet, single mother households get blamed for the breakdown of the modern family without the men who helped make those children being held accountable. Girls with "daddy issues" are seen as problematic rather than looking at the dads who are causing those issues. The inequity is breathtaking in its scope. Women are blamed for marriages failing, and it certainly doesn't hold men accountable for their role in relationships.

I've also noticed that a lot of single men are looking for women to fulfill a mother role rather than a partner role. The single dad who is looking for a mother figure to take over chores and parenting, the man who thinks a woman is supposed to complete him rather than taking the initiative to develop a full life on his own, the men dating who see a wife as a status symbol and sign of validation versus a full partner who might have needs of her own ... it goes on.

Thank you for weighing in here! Love what you wrote!
