I agree with all this except for avocados. I indulged in good chocolates instead. In balance, I got rid of some of the junk food that was a staple in my home when I was married.
I would also recommend finding an exercise you love. I don’t like fitness to be something I dread. I challenged myself to sign up for races and started to run. It was great for dealing with the emotions of divorce and being single again, not to mention single parenting. I guess running shoes were my necessary item. I’d add to that a park pass for hikes and kayaking, plus a yoga mat for a holistic approach to wellness. And a library card for great books.
I love the facial recommendations. I make a homemade one with yogurt and honey. Level Naturals has wonderful bath bombs and candles that are cruelty free and eco friendly. Self care is definitely essential!
