I can see that. We need more soft places --and people. That safety is so essential to love and growth. Growing up, I was always told that I needed to develop a thicker skin and stop wearing my heart on my sleeve-- but why? Why shouldn't we teach people to be kinder, softer, and better instead of teaching other people to be harder and more impervious to pain? It's certainly an interesting thought.
