I didn’t say that. I specifically said I would only consider an equitable marriage if I considered one at all. I doubt equitable marriages lead to misery or early death. They are simply the exception rather than the rule.
I understand your original question was meant to be provocative, but societal norms strongly influence our choices. Women are taught from a young age that marriage is a natural part of adult relationships despite the fact that it benefits us quite a bit less. Fortunately, many women are breaking the mold and refusing to follow society’s playbook. For women like them and women like me, we’re not doing things purely for convention and won’t ever settle.
