I don’t necessarily see people like that as leftovers. Sure, some have some prominent issues that could keep them chronically single, but sometimes, they just aren’t settling. I know people who didn’t marry until later in life and have wonderful healthy relationships. They didn’t have to go through the first divorce because they had their standards where they should have been. I’m 42, and I don’t see people who have lived life as undesirable. It’s not a problem for me if people are divorced or have kids — as long as they’ve dealt with their baggage and have learned from their experiences. Just because people stay married a long time doesn’t mean their relationships are healthy or happy, just like someone staying single isn’t a sign that they’re unhappy.
