I don’t trust writers who can’t be honest about their need for validation or their ambitions. The people who claim not to care how their work is received have to be the most insecure because they can’t even own up to it. I’m a shameless self-promoter because I want all the things — the best seller’s list and a full shelf of my books. Plus, I enjoy interacting with my readers.
