Only it’s not at all. Internalized misogyny is misogyny that has been internalized. Just like racism can be internalized, etc. Conservative opinions are fine; bigotry- directed toward sexual orientation, gender, race, etc- is not. If you’ve heard the phrase “internalized misogyny” and interpreted it as someone trying to shut you up versus an area that would serve you well to learn about and examine for truth, then you’re just reacting to the trigger and not understanding what is meant by the words. You might find that it’s not you vs them if you would be willing to hear their meaning and not your perception of that meaning.
