Pieces for the Broken

I. Glue Can’t Fix Shattered Things

Broken pieces lie upon the floor
I’ll never fit them quite back into place
Some shattered pieces shattered far too much
Some pieces won’t fit in this shrunken space
Beauty can still exist in things so broken
I look for that beauty to hold me through the storm
I tremble from the pain of missing pieces
Memories alone can’t keep me warm.
