Yet, studies are finding that women are happier single. So, we're not the ones miserable. Women's standards aren't influenced by social media and romantic movies as much as they are about wanting some equality in relationships. Women are saying that we want healthy, compatible partners, and men immediately take that as "less than their idea, refuse to work with and grow with a man", etc. We're all a work in progress. The problem is that many men are expecting women to take on the burden of their work rather than working on themselves, and women are saying no. That is incredibly empowering for women, but I can see how men would take issue with women refusing to participate any longer in unfulfilling relationships with men who refuse to do the work of personal growth.
